Web, bici, lavatrici vacanze-risparmio al Grand Hostel

Spendendo 960 euro si può dormire una sola notte nella regal suite numero 315 del Grand hotel, dove soggiornava Federico Fellini. Ma, con la stessa cifra, anzi con 10 euro di resto, si possono trascorrere 50 giorni nella camerata con tre letti a castello del Sunflower City Backpacker Hostel. Cinque stelle da una parte, ostello economico dall' altra. In linea d' aria distano meno di 200 metri l' una dall' altra, a Marina centro di Rimini, le due icone opposte del turismo della riviera. Due mondi lontani anni luce eppure così vicini. L'elite e la massa si confondono, passeggiando fra viale Vespucci e lungomare.
Facchini in guanti bianchi che trasportano i grandi bauli degli sceicchi arabi nella hall del Grand hotel, giovani piegati in due dal peso dello zaino da viaggio alla reception dell' ostello. «La valigia tradizionale è un' eccezione per i nostri clienti», osserva Silvia Capannini, 26 anni, la ragazza al bureau del Sunflower di via Dardanelli, da quest' anno segnalato sulla Lonely planet. Tariffa minima 19 in alta stagione per chi si accontenta di sistemarsi in uno stanzone con sconosciuti, facendosi il letto con le lenzuola ricevute all' arrivo e utilizzando un bagno in comune.
Le camere sono quasi tutte miste, a parte qualche «female», riservata alle donne che ne fanno richiesta. «Gli uomini, al contrario, insistono per la compagnia femminile», aggiunge la giovane receptionist. Per una matrimoniale con i servizi interni la tariffa sale a 69 euro. La colazione è compresa per tutti, come la connessione wi-fi a Internet e l'uso delle biciclette. Pranzo e cena no: la cucina non è a norma. Usare lavatrice e asciugatrice costa 3 euro. Stesso prezzo per il lucchetto, indispensabile per chiudere il piccolo armadietto in dotazione per gli effetti personali.
Le pareti degli ambienti comuni sono tappezzate da piccoli manifesti, quasi tutti in lingua inglese: promuovono escursioni come il «wine tour», una visita con degustazione alla Cantina del monsignore a San Giovanni in Marignano (25 euro), o la gita a San Marino e San Leo (40 euro, bagno nel fiume incluso). Anche gli ospiti italiani sono una rarità. «Almeno il 90% dei clienti è straniero: gente abituata a viaggiare. Giovani, in prevalenza». C'è chi arriva dall'Australia, dal Mozambico, dall'Argentina o dal Messico.
Gira l'Europa concedendosi una tappa nella riviera del divertimentificio, l'utente tipo dell'ostello. Damiano e Giulia, 19 e 17 anni, vengono invece da Monzambano, provincia di Mantova. Sono fidanzati ma dormono in una camerata insieme a ragazzi inglesi. «Niente intimità, pazienza. In compenso spendiamo poco e possiamo imparare la lingua e conoscere persone di culture diverse». Fatti due conti però, anche la vacanza in ostello non risulta troppo economica qui a Rimini, se ci si vuole divertire. Tra soggiorno (19 euro), un panino a pranzo nel chiosco a fianco della spiaggia libera (5), una piadina la sera (8 con una bibita), gli spostamenti in bus (8 per girare tutta la notte), ingresso in discoteca (20), cocktail (10), qualche escursione, benzina e autostrada per raggiungere la riviera, si arriva al totale di circa 750 euro a testa. Si può risparmiare su pranzo e cena al Sunflower Beach Backpacker Hostel, il gemello di via Siracusa, a Marebello di Rimini. Stessa proprietà, identici prezzi, ingresso più grande e accogliente, cucina e frigorifero a disposizione di tutti. Ne approfittano diversi stranieri. Osservarli ai fornelli non mette appetito. «È comunque un modo per socializzare. Al sabato però organizziamo dei pasta party per far conoscere i sapori italiani. Almeno si rifanno il palato», spiega Massimo Cesarini, 37 anni, uno dei tre soci titolari di entrambi gli ostelli della gioventù.

Sunflower City Backpacker

Run by a trio of ex-backpackers, the Sunflower is a chilled place with retro '70's wallpaper, a pool table and beds in dorms, singles and doubles. It has lockers big enough for rucksacks, a laundry, cooking facilities and free bike hire. The same gang also run the Sunflower Beach Backpacker Hostel located at Viale Siracusa 25 (), which is open from the end of March to the end of October and has the same prices and facilities. Take bus 11 from the train station to stop 24.
